Fishing in waters belonging to the "Nagyküküllő" fishing association

The "Nagyküküllő" Hunting and Sport Fishing Association currently has fishing rights in 60 water sections, of which 4 are flat water and 55 are mountain water (mostly small and large streams), and a 137-hectare mountain reservoir lake also adds to the number of fishable waters. Fishing can be done after purchasing a daily ticket or an annual pass.

Dog sled adventure tours on the Harghita Mountains

With the help of a team of 22 husky dogs, during half-day and one-day tours in the wild landscapes of the Harghita Mountains and the Csíki Mountains, we slide on dog sleds, tackle the mountains and valleys, and while winding through the maze of snowy serpentines, we admire the pine forests crumbling from the snow.

Babusgató petting zoo and animal park in Zeteváralja (Sub Cetate):

In the park, children and adults can get close to the animals, touch and pet them. In many cases, contact with animals can be therapeutic, as it has a beneficial effect on our physical and mental health. Skivarsag – Varság ski slope

15 km from Várlak Chalet, 40 minutes by car

Szeklerland’s number one ski slope with a chairlift in the heart of Székelyvarság.

Bobsled Track - Maroshévíz

80 km from Várlak Chalet, 1 hour 30 minutes by car

The bobsleigh track in Maroshévíz is the longest bobsleigh track in Romania. The length of the track exceeds 1,800 meters.
After a slow uphill section, the track descends mostly through the forest, the speed of the sleds reaches 40 km/h. The ascending-descending circuit takes about 8 minutes.

Visit and tasting at the Real Csíki Beer Manufaktúra (Real Csíki Beer Brewery)

75 km from Várlak Chalet, 1 hour 20 minutes by car

In Csíkszentsimon, the site of Csíki Sör Manufaktúra welcomes visitors every week from Monday to Saturday who want to get a glimpse of the secrets of beer production combined with beer tasting.

In order for the beer to go down well, you have to make a bed for it. Therefore, there is also a dining option. Traditional Szekler dishes with traditional beer.

Balu Adventure Park

52 km from Várlak Chalet, 1 hour by car

Balu Adventure Park, one of the oldest adventure parks in the country, is located in a beautiful natural environment fit for a fairy tale, surrounded by the peaks of the Eastern Carpathians, among the pine forests of Harghita. Its wire rope course is 985 meters long, of which 350 meters leads over a lake. The 11 routes of varying degrees of difficulty have a total of 190 game elements and the same number of stations built on trees, and in total cover an area of one and a half hectares.

Adventurous visitors, regardless of age, will have fun, adrenaline, active relaxation and an unforgettable experience at the same time.

Bear observatory, Zeteváralja (Sub Cetate)

52 km from Várlak Chalet, 1 hour by car

After a short drive above the Déság guesthouse in Zeteváralja (Sub Cetate), we reach the starting point. From here it is a short walk to the house. You must be very quiet here. Feeding takes place in the meadow in front of the house, and after 20-30 minutes the first bear family ventures out. They are very shy, they run away at the slightest disturbance and then come out again.

On average, 10-15 bears are seen in one night.

Red Lake

Red Lake is one of the largest natural dams in the country, which is part of the Békás-szoros (Cheile Bicaz) and Nagyhagymás National Parks (Hășmașul Mare). The lake was formed in 1837 as a result of a heavy rain when a part of the Gyilkos-Mountain slid down towards the Cohárd block, after this part blocked the valley of the Békás-stream.

Sugo Cave

In the mountain block of Nagy-Hagymás (Hășmașul Mare) , about 1,600 meters from the southern part of Sípos-rock, there is a speleological miracle, a real dream world made of limestone - the Sugó Cave. The cave has four floors, with three entrances located one above the other, and its length exceeds one kilometer. The name of the cave refers to the whispering sound caused by the impact of the water of the underground stream against the rocks.

The Csorgokö Waterfall in Varság

The Csorgókő waterfall is located in the Székelyvarság (Vârșag) forest, on the Nagykút stream (Fântâna Mare). The water of the stream growing from seven sources falls from a height of 7 meters, resulting in a beautiful two-step waterfall. From there, the water of the Nagykút stream makes its way to the Nagy-Küküllő( Târnava Mare), being a left-hand tributary stream.

Parajd salt mine (Salina Praid)

The effective climate of the Parajd salt mine is a suitable relaxation for everyone, but it's no secret that there are also some diseases on which being in the salt mine has a particularly beneficial effect.

It helps healthy people relax, beautify their skin, and refresh. The underground visitor level operates on "Level 50", which is located 120 m below the surface.

The heart of Jesus statue

The heart of Jesus statue is a work of art portraying Jesus, on the border of the villages of Farkaslaka (Lupeni), Székelyszentlélek (Bisericani) and Bogárfalva (Bulgăreni), in Szeklerland, part of Romania, in Harghita county.

Located on the 958-meter-high Gordon hill top, the statue also functions as a lookout point, at 47 km from the guesthouse.
